RSA Receives Caring Company Recognition for 2008/09

This is the seventh consecutive year for RSA Hong Kong receiving the Caring Company recognition from the Hong Kong Council of Social Service. Our efforts in volunteering, giving, being employee friendly and caring for the environment were specially recognised this year.

We were nominated by the Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association for the award. Our partnership started in 2008 with a number of volunteering programmes rolled out, such as Harmonious Family, Mini Olympics, and sponsorship for an exchange programme to Macau.

Besides, RSA Hong Kong actively supported blood donation drives and sponsored Hong Kong Red Cross' World Blood Donor Day. Our employees were encouraged to help the needy by taking part in the Hong Kong Marathon charity race and donating to the rescue organisations that undertook relief work for snowstorm and earthquake victims in China.

On environmental protection, we joined the Green Power Hike to raise funds for green education and conservation, and implemented recycling campaigns in the office.

To create a family-friendly environment for employees, we provided practicum opportunities for the children of our employees, and organised training and interest classes for staff development.

Ricky Chan, Sales & Marketing Director, said, "It's important for the business community to give something back to society despite the economic downturn. RSA is proud of what we have achieved and being recognised for our efforts."
