Royal & SunAlliance Won the Caring Company Award for the Sixth Consecutive Year

For the past six years, Royal & SunAlliance has been nominated by the Hong Kong Red Cross and won the Caring Company Award of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of our enduring efforts in caring for the community.

In 2007, our efforts in donating to social service organizations, providing a family-friendly environment for employees, caring for the environment and encouraging and supporting employee volunteering were specially recognized.

Royal & SunAlliance has supported various community service activities in 2007. Being a partner of Hong Kong Red Cross, we sponsored the publicity program of the World Blood Donor Day Campaign to recognise worldwide blood donors. We also solicited support for the Taikoo Place Blood Donations in April and August of the year.

Apart from sponsorship, we have solicited support from employees for a number of fund raising activities including walk-for-million and donation to flood relief. In addition, we tie up the sales of our pet insurance with animal welfare while donation will be made for every purchase.

To provide a family-friendly environment for employees, we have provided practicum opportunities for the children of our employees; organised various training courses and interest classes for staff development; and annual dinner and outings for employees and their families.

As far as caring for the environment is concerned, we joined the Green Power Hike to raise fund for green education, and implemented a number of recycling campaigns and fund raising activities.

Ricky Chan, Sales & Marketing Director, said, "We are so proud of winning this award again. It's a recognition to our employees who have been unceasingly supportive of R&SA culture to care for the community."
