Royal & SunAlliance Won the Caring Company Award for the Fifth Consecutive Year

For the past five years, Royal & SunAlliance has been nominated by the Hong Kong Red Cross and won the Caring Company Award of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service in recognition of our enduring efforts in caring for the community.

In 2006, our efforts in encouraging and supporting employee voluntary service, providing a family-friendly environment for employees and donating to social service organizations were specially recognized.

Royal & SunAlliance has supported various community service activities in 2006. Being a close partner of Hong Kong Red Cross, we sponsored the publicity program of the "Welcome Back" Campaign run by Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service. The campaign is to encourage blood donors to give blood regularly to maintain a stable blood supply in Hong Kong.

Besides material donation, we also solicited support for the Taikoo Place Blood Donation in May last year. In addition, we have joined the Green Power Hike, Community Chest Green Day and Dress Special Day and a number of recycling campaigns and fund raising activities.

To provide a family-friendly environment for employees, we have provided practicum opportunities for the children of our employees; organised various training courses and interest classes for staff development; and annual dinner and outings for employees and their families.

The Company is devoted to the caring for the community and the welfare of all animals as well. We are proud of our partnership with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) since last November to launch the most comprehensive pet insurance in town. With this partnership in place, we donate part of the premium income to the Society to promote and enhance the welfare of animals.

We are so proud of winning this award again. We aim to act as a role model in collaboration with social service sector to care for the community.
